A Joyous Celebration for Everyone: La Magdalena Festival in Castellón de la Plana


The Magdalena Festival in Castellón de la Plana is a lively nine-day celebration held annually around the third Saturday of Lent, commemorating the city's 1251 relocation from Magdalena Hill to the plains. In 2025, from March 22 to 30, the festival will feature cultural and religious events such as the "Pregó" procession, the "Romería de les Cañas" pilgrimage, and the "Gaiates Procession," with illuminated monuments. The streets come alive with music, dancing, and delicious food, culminating in a floral tribute to the Mare de Déu del Lledó and a spectacular fireworks display at the Town Hall.
